Learn what is the Meta Title in SEO. What is the importance of the Meta Title for a good ranking in Google.

What is the Meta Title?

The Meta Title is the title that is displayed in the search results of a search engine (e.g. Google). This title tries to tell the user what the web page shown in the search engine is about.

This html tag must be present on all pages that make up our website or online store.

To have an example you only have to do a Google search. The first line of each result shown in dark blue would be the Meta Title.

Importance of the Meta Title

If you want to be well positioned, it is of vital importance that, among other aspects, each indexed page of your website has a correctly configured Meta Title.

Thanks to the Meta Title, users will know what your web page is about and this will make them click to enter your page.

How should be the Meta Title of a web page?

For your Meta Title to help you have a good positioning we recommend the following:

1) Try to make it as descriptive as possible.

2) Although there are some emojis that are allowed and are shown in search engines, avoid using them.

3) Do not exceed 55 characters in length in your Meta Title.

4) Try to have some of the keywords for which you want to position your web page. But don't try to over-optimize it.

5) End the meta title with a hyphen and the name of your web page. This way the user will clearly see where to click.
